About Us

The Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards, organised by the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH), has attracted over 1500 companies and organisations from different sectors since it was first held in 2011.  The event brings different forms of smoking cessation services to various stakeholders and helps enterprises and organisations to formulate smoke-free policies.  Over the years, the campaign has successfully delivered the smoke-free message to more than 300 000 employees.

Employees are a company's most valuable asset.  The establishment of a smoke-free culture not only promotes the company’s productivity, but also protects everyone's health and enhances employees' sense of belonging to the company.  In recent years, the public and investors have been paying more attention to social and environmental issues, and a company's excellent performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) can help its brand and image to stand out.  This year, the "Outstanding ESG Smoke-free Involvement Award" has also been set up to recognise exemplary corporations and organisations with outstanding ESG performance.

The Government launched a public consultation on its tobacco control strategies this year, and we are now analysing the views received.  We will continue to strengthen our support for smokers to quit smoking.  The deadline for entering the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards 2023 is 17 November 2023.  I encourage enterprises and organisations to participate and work together for building a vibrant, healthy and smoke-free Hong Kong.
